An accredited two-day introductory GCP course designed for newcomers or those renewing after a lapse, covering ICH GCP E6 (R3), SA GCP 2020, and NDoH Ethics in Research 2024 with practical, real-world examples.

Good Clinical Practice

This course is for people who have never done GCP before or whose GCP has lapsed for more than 3 months. The course covers ICH GCP E6 (R3), SA GCP 2020 and NDOH Ethics in Research 2024 guidelines.

This accredited GCP course is interactive with real-world clinical research and GCP examples to ensure that attendees:

Course Format

1. Pre-Course Work

Participants receive the training manual and links to guideline documents such as the Declaration of Helsinki, ICH-GCP E6 Rev 3, SA GCP 2020, and NDoH Ethics in Health Research 2024, along with other relevant resources. These are emailed once registration and payment are confirmed.

Learners should allow at least one full day (8 hours) to prepare before attending the interactive session.

2. Interactive Live Session

The live session takes place via Microsoft Teams, where Dr Aspinall leads discussions on practical topics.

  • Requirements: Internet access, laptop/desktop, working sound, and the Teams application.

  • Duration: 5.5 – 6 hours (08h30–14h00).

  • Frequency: Once or twice per month.
    Participants are automatically registered for the next available session unless they request an alternative.

3. Assessment and Certification

After the live session, participants must complete an open-book assessment.

  • A minimum of 80% is required to pass.

  • Certification (valid for 3 years) is issued upon successful completion.

  • Requirements for certification: Reading pre-course material, attending the interactive session, and passing the assessment.

5. Course Requirements

To fully participate in the course, attendees need:

  • Internet access

  • A laptop or desktop computer

  • Working sound (microphone and speakers/headset)

  • Microsoft Teams application installed

CPD Accreditation

Accredited by SAMA/ HPCSA for 15 CPD points (7 Clinical and 8 Ethics).

R3500.00 for hybrid training
(pre-course work and 1 day interactive Teams Training)

R4000.00 for 2 days classroom style training
